About me

I’m a Marine Corps veteran with nearly twelve years of service. In the final stretch of my military career I started teaching myself to code, and made the leap through Code Platoon — a full-stack bootcamp built specifically for veterans and military spouses.

That program gave me real reps with React and JavaScript on the front end, Python and Django on the back end, and the connective tissue in between — HTML, CSS, PostgreSQL, Next.js. The discipline of the Corps mapped over surprisingly well: ship the work, own the outcome, keep learning.

I’m currently enrolled in a Master of Computer Science program to push past bootcamp foundations and into the deeper computer-science fundamentals — algorithms, systems, theory. The goal is to be the kind of engineer who reaches for the right tool because they understand what’s underneath it.
